Join Hastings Family Service (HFS) in bridging help and hope for neighbors in July! Every dollar donated through July 31, 2026, receives a proportionate match through the Open Your Heart Summer Challenge. This bonus giving opportunity comes at a critical time during summer when food assistance needs and unhoused neighbor supports increase.
HFS Executive Director Amy Sutton indicates, “More neighbors than ever are having to choose between food on the table, gas for the car, or paying for rent and childcare -- the list goes on. Every dollar donated in July is deeply appreciated and makes a greater impact, ensuring local help is available.”
Over the past five years, the number of full food shelf orders provided by HFS has nearly tripled. HFS Programs Director Amy Tix states, “On top of this growth, HFS continues to search for ways to reach more neighbors in more places. The HFS team distributed 1,853 free bagged lunches for kids in June. The proportionate match grows the impact of community support and helps HFS keep up with growing needs."
