Hastings Family Service is expanding!  Like many other businesses and organizations, HFS had to get creative during the pandemic.  With new and modified programs as well as increased food shelf need, space became an issue. 

There will be a Market on the Move event (in partnership with Hastings Public Schools ISD #200 Food Service) on Wednesday, July 14, 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. and Wednesday, July 21, 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

Join Hastings Family Service in celebrating 50 years of help and hope on Wednesday, April 21 at 7 p.m. 

Mark your calendars for Monday, June 14, 2021 for Drive Out Hunger, a golf tournament benefiting Hastings Family Service. 

There will be a Market on the Move spring break event in partnership with Hastings School District Food Service Thursday, March 25, 8:00-10:00 a.m. and 2:30-5:30 p.m. at Hastings Middle School (door #24).  This event is available to all students in ISD 200 and will include 3-4 days of food for the family that may include: meat, bread, dairy, produce, and dried goods (contents will vary). Advanced sign-up is required and spots are limited. Deadline for sign up is March 18th, 4:00 p.m.  

We encourage everyone to participate in Hastings Tasting Takeout at anytime during the Minnesota FoodShare campaign by dining in or ordering a meal for takeout or delivery from any of the local establishments that you would have enjoyed at Hasting Tastings this year. 

From March 1 to April 11, every dollar and every pound of food donated to Hastings Family Service is proportionately MATCHED by MN FoodShare!  

Hastings Family Service is offering Market Express (an express drive-thru food pick up) on Thursday, February 18, 4:00 - 4:45 p.m. and Friday, February 26, 9:00 - 9:45 a.m.

Give to the Max Day is just around the corner! HFS is having some fun this year with our own spin on the day: Give to the "Mask."

Hastings Family Service is introducing Market Express, an opportunity for an express drive-thru food pick up. 

Rivertown Treasures Thrift Store is extending clothing donations and sidewalk sales through the month of October. 

Project Share registration is now open!  Households requesting gifts for children ages 18 and under may begin registration now. The process has changed this year, please visit the Project Share page to learn more and register online!

Rivertown Treasures Thrift Store will be having sidewalk sales on Fridays and Saturdays in September. 

Rivertown Treasures will be accepting clothing donations on a limited basis next week

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the School Supply Assistance program will be modified this year.  Families are asked to call 651-437-7134 to schedule an appointment beginning Monday, August 10.  Prepacked backpacks will be distributed to students through a safe, confidential drive-thru appointment.

Hastings Family Service will be closed on Monday, May 25 in observance of Memorial Day

The Hastings Family Service building, including the HFS Donation Center and Rivertown Treasures will remain closed to the public. Essential services continue with current modifications.

With Rivertown Treasures Thrift Store and the HFS Donation Center closed until further notice, HFS would like to remind donors to keep the following in mind as you pack up items to be donated at a later date:

Hastings Family Service will be closed on Friday, April 10, 2020.  Regular hours will resume on Monday, April 13.  Have a safe and happy Easter weekend! 

Hastings Family Service has cancelled Hastings Tastings this year. We look forward to celebrating our 25th Annual Hastings Tastings in spring of 2021. We encourage everyone to participate in Hastings Tastings Takeout this week by ordering a meal for takeout or delivery from one of the local establishments that you would have enjoyed at Hastings Tastings this year.

Minnesota FoodShare has extended the MN FoodShare March campaign through April 30, 2020. 

Effective March 16, 2020, Hastings Family Service will be modifying delivery of services to ensure that social distancing and safety protocol can be maintained. While Rivertown Treasures and the HFS building will be closed to the public, essential services will continue to be available. 

In accordance with the CDC recommendation to limit larger gatherings, Hastings Family Service is postponing Hastings Tastings which was scheduled for March 30th at SEAS Church.

Bremer Farms will be hosting Santa on the Farm on Saturday, December 14, 5-7 p.m. 

River Blades Skating School is hosting Skate with Santa on Saturday, December 14 at the Hastings Civic Arena.

Hastings Arts Center hosts Mary Jane Alm, Aimee Lee, and Boyd Lee featuring Pat Donohue and members of A Prairie Home Companion's "Guy's All Stare Shoe Band" in concernt on Saturday, December 7 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, December 8 at 2 p.m.  

Join us for the Holiday Train Jamboree and CP Holiday Train on Monday, December 9 starting at 6 p.m. at Branchline Church.

Bring in a new, unwrapped toy and receive a FREE hamburger meal during the King's annual toy drive, Tuesday, December 3, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Hastings Family Service and Rivertown Treasures will be closed Saturday, August 31 and Monday, September 2 in observance of Labor Day.

School Supply distribution will take place on August 20-22 and August 26-27, 2019.  An appointment is required.  Appointments can be made by calling 651-437-7134 starting August 13.
