As part of our food rescue and Market food shelf programs, we practice organics recycling so that food that cannot be used for neighbors is given a “second life.” This sustainable practice is environmentally friendly and working with a partner helps us reduce costs. We have an immediate opportunity to partner with a local livestock/agricultural farmer who would like to receive some of our organics recycling! This involves a minimum commitment of picking up organics at our location twice per week, at around 300 pounds per pickup. Ideally no or minimal separation of organic food products is preferred. This program is particularly appealing for swine farmers.
