Hastings Family Service is grateful to the local community for its incredible support during the Open Your Heart July Summer Challenge. Just over $67,750 was raised to receive a proportionate match from Open Your Heart to the Hungry and Homeless. HFS Executive Director Amy Sutton indicates, “This generosity comes at a time when basic needs within our community continue to skyrocket. In May, the HFS Market food programs served 1,037 neighbors from 400 households, an all-time high. This is a trend continuing due to many families struggling with the cost of groceries, rent, home ownership, and childcare.”

HFS is grateful to all supporters of the campaign, and community partners Culver’s, Spiral Brewery, and Spiral Food Co-Op for hosting fundraising events. “Coming together to provide help and hope makes our community stronger,” states Sutton.
