Sometimes the immediate need of a family or individual in crisis is not food. They may need help with diapers, formula, housing costs, utilities, gas to get to work, vehicle repairs, or prescription medications. Depending on the demonstrated emergency need HFS may be able to help in these situations.
Vouchers are given to eligible applicants for diapers, formula, emergency clothing, household items, and birthday bags for children. Appointments are not needed to receive a voucher. You will be required to show a photo I.D. and a current piece of mail postmarked within the last two weeks as well as knowledge of income and expenses for your entire household.
Grants are provided to eligible applicants to help assist with some expenses including housing, utilities, automobile repairs, gas to get to work or school, and prescriptions. Grants require a demonstrated emergency need and for the situation to be resolved if the grant is approved.
All grants require calling an emergency service worker to determine your eligibility. Please call us at 651-437-7134 to speak to member of our staff. Once you have been determined eligible for a grant, you may complete the forms below and bring them with you to your appointment.
